General Business 政府 — Accelerated Option Overview
Now you can get started in your business career in just 15 months with our General Business 政府 — Accelerated Option. Enrollment is only available for Fall or Summer Semesters.
Like 阿尔伯马尔学院’s (COA) traditional General Business 政府 curriculum, the Accelerated Option is designed to introduce you to various aspects of the free enterprise system, but at a quicker pace — summer and winter (four-week sessions between our fall and spring semesters) classes speed your progress. You’ll be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, 流程, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy.
The Accelerated Option allows you to:
- Earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in just 15 months

Classwork — which is mostly online — includes business concepts such as accounting, 商业法, 经济学, 管理与营销. Skills related to the application of these concepts are developed through the study of computer applications, 沟通, team building and decision-making. Through these skills, you’ll have a sound business education base for lifelong learning.
*Students who intend to transfer are encouraged to work with the intended four-year college or university. Courses should be chosen based upon requirements for student’s intended major at the receiving four-year institution.

冬天Intersession
The General Business 政府 program offers a select number of accelerated 冬天Intersession Courses. Winter intersession is an online intensive four-week class offered between the fall and spring semesters.
An intensive course means that you’re expected to complete the same course work that is taught in a 16-week course within a four-week time frame. You’ll be required to complete work on a daily basis. If a class is a three contact hour course taught over 16 weeks, the 48 hours of the course will be covered in four weeks.

Students, you must have departmental approval to enroll in the accelerated degree program. Interested students MUST complete this form to determine eligibility.

Upon completion of the program, students will:
- Develop and use balance sheets and income statements to gauge the performance of an actual firm
- Work proficiently with the QuickBooks small business accounting system
- Complete a corporate analysis of actual firms and present the comparative findings
Partnership (beginning Fall 2021)
COA has a bilateral agreement with Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). A级毕业生.A.S. degree in General Business 政府- Accelerated Option may transfer into the B.S. Business 政府 (concentration in Economics and Finance) program at ECSU.
